Cosmology
Cosmology is the scientific study of the universe of which the Earth is only a tiny part. By the application of physics, chemistry and mathematics, cosmologists have built up a picture of an incredibly vast universe with distances between galaxies of unimaginable proportions. They have also deduced that the universe appears to have had a finite beginning at a point in the distant past – the ‘Big Bang’ as it is popularly known – and that it continues to expand in all directions at an incredible speed. However, cosmologists are also agreed that the laws and constants of the universe appear to be finely tuned to an astonishing degree in a way which makes life possible on this planet. Such ‘cosmic fine tuning’ is unmistakable evidence of Intelligent Design (ID).
