Genetics

Genetics is the scientific study of heredity and variation in organisms. The discovery of the chemical structure of DNA by Crick and Watson in 1953 and the genetic code carried in the sequencing of its base pairs solved the long-standing mystery of how an organism passes its form to the next generation. But solving that mystery uncovered an even greater puzzle, namely the source of the genetic information carried in the digitally-coded chemical units within DNA. Since functional information arises only from the operation of intelligent mind, it is a reasonable scientific inference to conclude the existence of an intelligent mind behind DNA. It is interesting that President Bill Clinton, when announcing from the White House in 2000 the elucidation of the chemical sequences of the human genome, described it as ‘the language in which God created life’.
